A position as Professor of Climate/Environmental History (SKO 1013) is available at the Department of Archaeology, Conservation and History, University of Oslo.

The holder of the position will be responsible for developing the field of climate/environmental history within the Department. The successful candidate is also expected to initiate and lead research, supervise PhD candidates, participate in teaching and in exam setting and assessment at all levels, and to carry out administrative duties in accordance with the needs of the Department.

    •    Academic qualifications equivalent to two doctoral degrees, with ongoing research being carried out in both.
    •    The scientific production should be of a high quality and demonstrate both thematic and chronological breadth and depth within the field of climate/environmental history.
    •    The scientific production should reflect an independent research profile, an ability to discuss new issues, and preferably a cross-disciplinary approach.
    •    Documented pedagogical skills, (either a teaching course certificate or based on teaching experience), see How to document your pedagogical skills
    •    Qualifications in communication and public outreach and qualifications in leadership and administration, beyond the normal performance of duties in two of these areas.
    •    Documented potential for project acquisition
    •    Personal suitability and motivation for the position.
