Appel à contributions 15 mars 2014
Barcelone, 17-18 décembre 2014 : Small-scale societies and environmental transformations: co-evolutionary dynamics.
The aim of this International Conference is to explore co-evolutionary dynamics in cultural evolution and in culture-environment interactions in small-scale societies both pre-industrial (through archaeological case studies) and contemporary (through anthropological investigations). We will specially focus on the interplay between cultural practices and environmental transformations.
We invite proposal for both oral and poster contributions.
As the number of slot for each session is limited, people who intend to present a paper should send an extended abstract (2 pages, c. 800 words) that will be circulated to the scientific committee for evaluation. Abstracts for poster presentation should not exceed 300 words (excluding title, authors’ names and affiliations).
All abstracts should be submitted in English and include the abstract title, authors’ names and affiliations.
There will be no conference proceeding, but all the accepted abstracts and posters will be published online on the conference website.
In addition, five of the best papers will be selected for publication in a special issue of a recognized international journal (final title tba, however Ecology and Society has provisionally accepted our proposal). As the publication of the journal is scheduled for mid 2015, people who will be offered and accept to publish their paper will need to have a complete (though not final) draft by the time they arrive at the conference. Final date of submission for the special issue will be set 2 months after the conference so that updates to the papers can be made according to the comments received during the presentation.
To submit your abstract, please fill in the registration form. Alternatively you can send your abstracts to the organizing committee by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
